Carolina Family Services Celebrates 10 Years of Giving with 10th Annual Backpack Giveaway

Carolina Family Services has announced its 10th Annual Backpack Giveaway, taking place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at 17 Memorial Medical Drive, Greenville, SC 29605. In the event of severe weather, the giveaway will be held on Sunday, July 26, during the same hours.

For the past 10 years, Carolina Family Services has partnered with the community to help ensure local students begin each school year with the tools they need to succeed. This year’s Backpack Giveaway continues that tradition by providing brand-new backpacks filled with essential school supplies to K–12 students at no cost. The event is free, open to all K–12 students, and available while supplies last.

“For the past decade, we’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of children begin the school year with the tools they need to succeed,” said Tamara Siders, chief operating officer of Carolina Family Services. “A backpack may seem like a simple gift, but it represents confidence, opportunity, and a community that believes in our children. We are grateful to our volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who have helped make this event possible each year.”

The Backpack Giveaway is a drive-thru event designed to make participation easy and convenient for families. Volunteers will assist with distributing backpacks, and students must be present to receive supplies.

This year’s event is made possible through the generous support of community partners, including Humana Healthy Horizons in South Carolina and Healthy Connections, whose continued commitment helps ensure local students begin the school year prepared for success.
